Coming to Utah, I did not expect to fall into the trap of one of the most practiced recreational Utahan activity: HOT TUBBING. Let me give you a virtual tour with words of the different hot tubs around the freshman housing.
The Riv - This is the one I know the most about. Since The Riv is closest to Helaman halls, it is the most accessible for freshmen on-campus like me. The Riv Hot tub is outside but it is always on which is nice. Although it is technically open only to Riviera residents, the gate is always open cuz so many people like to use it. In the winter, the walk from the dorms to the hot tub can get reaaallllyyyy long because it is so cold outside, and sometimes your jacket ices over while you're hot tubbing, making the walk back even longer. You don't want to be the person who has to turn the bubbles back on cuz the button is not accessible from within the comfort of the hot tub. But! It's still really fun. And it feels nice to mix ice in the hot tub to even out the temperature. It gets SUPER steamy in the winter time because of the evaporation, and sometimes it is hard to see the person on the other side. The Riv hot tub is ovular and not too big but lots of people frequent it. Many people who go there often become Riv Regulars. You can decide for yourself if that is a good or bad thing to be. PS the railing that goes down into the hot tub can move which is kinda cool.
Liberty Square - I have only been here once, but I got a date and my friend got TWO different dates with TWO different dudes when we went. Ah, the magic of hot tubbing. What is nice about the Lib Square hot tub is that it is partially inside. It is smaller than the Riv, but it is enclosed with glass but without a doorway. That way, the whole room is warm rather than you breaking your nerves in half by going from freezing to boiling really fast. The Lib Square hot tub is also right next to the Lib Square pool, which makes it easy and accessible. Mae Huang doesn't like the Lib Square hot tub cuz "you have to hop the gate after 1 AM. I just don't think you should have to do that." Agreed.
[Redacted because I forgot the name of the apt complex] - This is a rectangular hot tub but the seats are way pointy and narrow so it's not that comfortable to sit in and when you do sit in it, the water level is weirdly high. Would not recommend.
The Village - I haven't been to this one but Lexie has. She says it is skinny and long and big and indoors which is NICE (also the Village is the boujeeest place to live) but that it is lit up so you don't get that late night hot tub vibe, which is kind of the best.
As you can see, hot tubbing can be not only a hobby, but a lifestyle. Each hot tub has its own unique style and I like trying them out. Just call me the Guy Fieri of Provo Hot Tubbing ;)

The Tragedy of the iPhone 7
If you have an iPhone 7, CHECK YOUR MODEL. Because yours might be one that is subject to a recall! A cellular update failure could ruin your life. Don't let the same thing happen to you. SAVE YOURSELVES.
It all began one fateful day, when I was double-booked, as usual. I was running around trying to call Audrey so I could pick up the business casual clothes I forgot to pack with me so I could go volunteer for a career fair. Everyone has days like those right? When I didn't have wifi as I was running in between buildings, my phone STOPPED WORKING. It was so maddening!
I got the clothes and everything worked out, and this problem continued for a couple months. I found out that it was a cellular update failure, and that it was a very common problem among iPhone 7's. There was a recall so Apple would fix them for free, but it took 14 business days...which is hard to do with school and everything. So, I took a proactive choice and ignored it until I literally could not anymore. By the time I decided to send it in a couple months later, I could not text, facetime, facetime audio, call, or record any videos with sound.
I took it in to an Apple outlet and sent it off. The next day, my dad sent his ancient iPhone 5 to use temporarily. It was slow, but it worked! And that was all I needed. About a month later, I still hadn't received any updates about my phone so I went into the store. Turns out, they had a completely wrong phone number for me this whole time! Not sure how that happened.
I got my phone (!!) and went to Starbucks to celebrate (!!!!!!) and turned it on (!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!).... only to find that the problem STILL EXISTED. So I hopped on back to the Apple store and asked them what was wrong. They went into the files and found out that Apple didn't fix it because it had third-party tampering. I could not remember for the life of me if I had gone through any third party.
Then, my dad found the solution. Last July, I had dropped my phone and shattered the screen, so I got a new iPhone 7 through my insurance company - since it was refurbished by them, Apple wouldn't fix it. So THEN we called the insurance company and they said they would give me a new phone for free because it was shattered less than a year ago.
The new one came in the mail the two days later because I had to wait for my dad (the account holder) to get off a plane from NYC. THEN it came and I still couldn't call anyone. So I called apple, thinking it was an Apple ID problem. They said it wasn't. So I called Verizon and the lady said "Just a second." Then it was silent for about 8 minutes, and then, finally, magically, hundreds of messages that I had been missing for the last four months came streaming in.
IT TOOK FOUR MONTHS BUT I FINALLY HAVE A WORKING PHONE!
